Saturday 21st May
Gun Brewery is proud to welcome Californian winemaker, Gavin Chanin for tutored tasting of his exquisite, cool-climate Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs.
In 2006 Gavin's was faced with a fork in the road; to continue his art studies at UCLA or to become a winemaker. Launching Chanin Wines in 2007, Gavin found a way to continue with both passions and to this day each label has an image of Gavins's art work.
Success followed quickly, and Forbes named Gavin as one of its "30 Under 30" in Food and Wine. Gavin's wines have become hugely sought after, reflecting the terroir of the great vineyards of the Sta. Rita Hills and Santa Maria Valley AVAs.
Wines to be tasted:
2019 Los Alamos Vineyard Chardonnay
2019 Sanford and Benedict Vineyard Chardonnay
2019 Sanford and Benedict Vineyard Pinot Noir
2012 Bien Nacido Pinot Noir
During this exclusive tasting, in the brewery production space, Gavin will take guests through the wines above and will discuss, amongst other things, winemaking, art, the effects of climate change on vineyards, organic farming and Californian Chardonnay/Pinot Noir vs Burgundy.
After the tasting guests can move through to the Brewery Tap Room where Gavin will be around all evening to chat.
The wines will be available to buy by the bottle from the taproom Bar.
There will be Mexican street food available from Carlito Burrito, an award winning Mexican street food company, whose inspiration comes from the Mexican Pacific coast and their own family recipes.
Tickets £25.
Start time 6.30pm.
