Delivery Driver / BREWERY assistant– Full Time

This is a varied role that involves both working in the brewery and (at least 2/3 days a week) delivering to pubs.

A typical week could include:

Delivery
- Route planning
- Stock picking
- Loading & unloading the van
- Delivering beer and collecting empties

Brewery
- Assisting in canning, kegging and cask racking
- Cleaning casks, kegs & vessels
- Keeping the brewery & coldstores clean & tidy
- Preparing malt & hops for brewing
- Emptying and cleaning the Mash Tun & Kettle

Requirements

  • Have a clean, full UK driving licence held for over 5 years

  • This is a physically demanding job. Casks of beer weigh 45 kg, so it is essential you are fit

  • An interest / experience in brewing and beer would be nice, but not essential as long as you are keen to learn.  
    If you are keen to learn we will support you through the relevant IBD qualification.

  • As part of the public face of the brewery, it’s essential you are someone who is polite, punctual and well organised.

Full time £17,160 per annum. Other benefits include pension and private healthcare.

Brewing assistant – Full Time

Roles & Responsibilities:

This role is not for the faint-hearted, a career in brewing is hard work and requires commitment, focus and attention to detail.  However, it is also hugely satisfying and for the right candidate this is a wonderful opportunity to learn the trade.  Reporting to the Senior Brewer, you will be given exposure to and be trained on all aspects of the brewing process.  Your induction to the business will be thorough and once up to speed you will be given responsibility for key aspects of the brew day, including:
• Assisting on brew days;
• Cleaning and Maintenance of brew plant;
• Carbonation;
• Labelling, Canning and Kegging;
• Quality Control;
• Cellar management.

You will also be given exposure to all the day to day aspects of running the brewery and will give support as required. We in turn will support you through the relevant IBD qualification.

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have:

• A passion for craft beer brewing;
• Experience of working within a commercial brewery would be a bonus, but not essential;
• Attention to detail and ability to learn quickly;
• Not afraid of hard work and with a real commitment to being successful in the role;
• Due to the physical nature of working in a brewery, you must be physically fit and able to lift and carry loads;
• Having a clean, full UK driving licence held for over 5 years would be an advantage as you may on occasion be asked to help with deliveries.
