Street Food Cook: Part-Time

We have recently set up a service kitchen in a neat shipping container so we can also offer food ourselves alongside our fantastic line up of rotating food trucks. We have developed a range of delicious homemade pies and arancini, using locally sourced, great quality ingredients… including our own beers!

This is a part time role (approx. 83 hours/month) to include evenings, weekends and bank holidays. There may also be additional hours available for special events/private bookings, but generally we anticipate core hours for this role would be:

  • Three Fridays/month (to coincide with our busy vinyl and live music nights!): 14.30-22.00

  • Every Sat: 10.30-22.30

  • Every other Weds: 8.30am-5pm

  • Bank Holidays Mondays (hours in addition to those above) and occasional special Events / Private Bookings.

As this is a new venture, a degree of flexibility would be required whilst we establish opening hours that work best, if you cannot work all of the above hours, please still get in touch and let us know your availability.

Main Duties:

  • Completing opening/closing checks and ensuring that the kitchen is kept clean and tidy at all times

  • Cooking food to order, in accordance with current hygiene/health and safety standards (including allergen management)

  • Assisting the Catering Manager in food preparation (creation of pies and arancini: this is done on Wednesdays)

  • Completion of food safety checks as instructed by the catering manager in line with our Safer Food Better Business HACCP plan (stock rotation, temperature checks etc).

About You:

  • Catering / Short Order Cooking experience, and ideally a valid food hygiene certificate (or experience that means you will fly through a refresher course if yours has lapsed)

  • Able to work independently (following a period of training, you will mostly be running the food service on your own). Also able to work with our catering manager production, following recipes and prepping for service.

  • Driving license and own transport essential (no public transport links)

  • Positive, friendly attitude and a passion for delicious, excellent quality street food!

Salary: Dependent on experience

Annual Leave pro rata (based on 28 days holiday per annum for full time staff)

To apply: Email your CV and a brief covering email to lou@gunbrewery.co.uk
